About

Horse Sitting Client - Apache

Ever since I was young, I have always loved animals. Honestly, I’ve always felt more at home in a stable than just about anywhere else. I’ve used every opportunity I could find to be near or around horses: from lessons at a local stable to the Triangle Y summer camp to volunteering at boarding stables. I have always been involved in all aspects of horse care, not just the “fun” stuff. I understand the responsibility and hard work that comes with taking care of horses or other animals. I have always been responsible and made sure to always give my dog the best of me that I could. I knew I was her person, her caregiver. I was responsible for walking, feeding, and cleaning up after her. It wasn’t a job because our pets are our family and I promised to always be there for her.

My passion for animals has only grown and so I am currently attending the University of Ohio online to get a degree in Equine Business Management to turn my passion into a career.

Where Did “Just One Carrot” Come From?

Dog Dot

I was walking home from first grade one day when I found a stray puppy. The second I saw her she stole my heart and before we even reached home, I had named her Dot. We put up lost dog posters all over town but when no one came forward to claim her, I was able to keep her.

Dot had so much personality! She was incredibly picky. One time, we bought her dry food that contained bits of dried carrots. She, unbeknownst to us, did not like carrots and proceeded to pick out every single dried carrot from that dish of food! In the 15 years she was with me, she never did like anything carrot flavored.

“Just One Carrot” to me is Dot saying, “I will not eat a nasty carrot! Give it to the horses!”

This pet sitting business is my promise to Dot to treat all pets as I would want someone to treat her if she was in their care.
